What can I say - you've seen the news - it's bad. Thankfully I know that all of my family is safe, and I can tell you that I did rush home to check my babies too. The older dogs were very unhappy (the house still holding together but everything had crashed down all over the place) but the pups were all still asleep in their box unbothered by the chaos and destruction going on outside.
Teatime came and still no electricity. Had to warm their milk on a gas cooker and feed them by torchlight, not fun.
It has turned cold so when hubby got back to town he cranked up the generator (the one we purchased last time there was a major earthquake) to keep the pups box warm.
Bought the mattresses down into the lounge to sleep for the family (human and canine), but sleep is proving, difficult thanks to the continuous aftershocks.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
